The Association of Professional Staffing Companies APSCo – in conjunction with Precision Global Consulting – has extended its International Compliance Helpdesk Service to cover the USA and Canada in order to better support members operating across the Atlantic.

The move follows the launch of the trade association’s International Helpdesk earlier this year and is in response to an increasing number of UK staffing firms working in US markets. According to the latest APSCo Deloitte Recruitment Index, 9% of UK-based recruitment leaders plan to open offices in North America in the coming months.

APSCo Affiliate Member, Precision Global Consulting, is an expert in mitigating the liability and employer risk associated with employing a workforce in the US and Canada. Through the service, APSCo members can submit queries around managing contractors in these locations via email, which will be responded to with a telephone call. The system aims to have a five hour turnaround time and there are no additional charges for using this service.

On the launch, Tania Bowers, General Counsel at The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), commented:

“APSCo is always striving to enhance its service offering for members, and we are delighted that Precision Global Consulting is partnering with us on this latest initiative. While we anticipated that this would be a popular service, demand has already passed expectations. For recruitment firm’s placing talent across the pond, I have no doubt that this will continue to be a valuable resource.”

Jeremy Wastall, Commercial Director at Precision Global Consulting added:

“Demand for professional contractors across the US is rising rapidly as employers increasingly see the benefits of bringing on board skills on a non-permanent basis. However, the legislative challenges associated with managing W2 employees – particularly given differences in regulations between states – should not be underestimated. We are excited to be involved in launching this service line for APSCo and its members, and we look forward to assisting recruitment firms to realise their professional ambitions as they take advantage of the opportunities the US and Canada have to offer.”
