(London, United Kingdom), Friday, 15th August 2025: The number of businesses trying to understand the financial issues their employees face has nearly quadrupled in the last three years, according to just-released research. In a nationwide survey commissioned by a leading UK speaker bureau, Speakers Corner, which drew responses from more than five hundred business owners and directors, the percentage of respondents supporting their employees’ financial wellbeing by making an effort to understand their economic concerns has risen from 12% in 2022 to 45% last year.
It’s a pattern that seems to repeat in other areas too. 41% of businesses now provide professional financial education resources for employees (up from 13% in 2022) and the number of employers training senior staff to better support colleagues has more than tripled over the course of two years (from 13% in 2022 to 44% in 2024).
Encouragingly, the percentage of respondents who are supporting their employees’ financial wellbeing by normalising conversations about money at work has increased to 37%, marking a 185% increase over the original 13% (from 2022).
“It’s reassuring to see employers taking their employees’ financial concerns more seriously, “ comments Nick Gold, Managing Director of Speakers Corner. He adds; “Our research shows that businesses are moving beyond surface-level support and making a real effort to understand and address the financial wellbeing of their teams. That shift is not only good for employees, it’s also vital for building resilient, people-first workplaces. And that’s a positive move in the right direction,” concludes Nick Gold.
Perhaps most encouragingly of all, the number of employers who say they are supporting their employees’ financial wellbeing by paying a fair salary and being mindful of expenses has risen from just 15% in 2022, to 49% two years later. Taken together, the findings suggest a clear and positive shift in how UK businesses view their responsibility toward employee financial wellbeing. It’s becoming evident that financial support in the workplace is no longer a fringe benefit, rather it’s a core pillar of progressive, sustainable business practice.
