Fiona Hewitt joins from Neves Solicitors to become tenth employment partner in consultant-led law firm.

Constantine Law, the consultant-led “agile” employment and regulatory specialist law firm has made two new appointments, recruiting a new partner, Fiona Hewitt and new solicitor, Emma Dubar to its growing employment team. The appointments take Constantine Law to a headcount of 13 partners and a total of 19 fee earning staff – including 10 specialist employment partners.

Fiona Hewitt joins from Legal 500 ranked, national firm, Neves Solicitors and is a leading employment and disputes lawyer with over 23 years’ experience. She is also an Accredited Mediator.

Fiona has expertise advising on restrictive covenants and partnership disputes. She regularly assists on the restructuring, acquisition and sale of businesses where there are affected employees. She has considerable experience of dealing with the media, enabling her to advise on the reputation management side of dispute resolution. Fiona also has an interest in disability discrimination in relation to PTSD and disfigurement.

In 2023, Fiona was shortlisted for Disputes Lawyer of the Year at the inaugural Women and Diversity in Law awards, which celebrates those in the UK legal sector working to make it more diverse and inclusive. Fiona has been a Committee Member of the Law Society’s Disabled Solicitors’ Network and an Ambassador for Changing Faces. She is the Honorary Solicitor for Team Endeavour Racing and for Community Care North Bucks.

Emma Dubar joins Constantine Law as an employment solicitor from the employment law team at 3CS Corporate Solicitors. She has worked in employment law for 5 years and advises both businesses and senior executives, predominantly engaging in respondent work.

Emma has a wealth of experience in claimant work in the Employment Tribunal, with experience also in both the Employment Appeal Tribunal and High Court.

Commenting on the new appointments, Managing Partner John Hayes said, “We welcome both Fiona and Emma to the firm.”

“Fiona’s experience in commercial dispute resolution and mediation brings added depth to our growing employment team. Our continuing recruitment of partners of her calibre is a testament to our business model and the attractions of working for a progressive, collegiate firm like ours in these modern times. We are without the fixed costs of many firms, and we don’t impose targets, so our solicitors have more freedom to work and develop their work in a way that suits them best.”

“We are alone in consultant-led employment practices by having an experienced core of employed solicitors at the heart of the firm (our “A team”) who support our consultant-led partner with their practices. This enables us to field a range of very senior as well as junior lawyers to meet client demands (however big or small the instruction). We will always invest in the careers of our lawyers, whatever their professional needs.”

“It is this blend of experience, depth and agility which sets us apart from other firms. We will continue to hire highly rated employment and regulatory lawyers to further develop our offering to clients and partners.”
