Leading Recruitment and Employment Technology Company, The CareerWallet has produced new research showing that the UK Government website may only list 20% of relevant, live vacancies across the UK.
The CareerWallet processes up to 10 million jobs daily from recruitment companies and employers across the UK and has recently published a national job vacancy survey showing detailed trends and insights into the UK job market, and in doing so uncovered how how the UK Government’s official jobsite is letting down jobseekers across the country.
For example, researchers noted that there are currently over 20,000 live and unique cleaning jobs available in the UK and the government jobsite lists only a little over 4,000 of these, highlighting that many relevant job roles are simply being overlooked or ignored by government officials. Researchers noted that thousands of roles in other sectors are not being accessed either.
The report from the leading tech firm shows how tens of thousands of jobs from relevant sectors are simply not being offered to jobseekers online or through job centres as the government are unaware of them – researchers believe this is partially due to the UK Government’s unwillingness to partner with the private sector in setting up a partnership to offer a comprehensive solution to jobseekers.
Craig Bines, CEO at The CareerWallet Group, commented,
“At CareerWallet we process millions of jobs a day and have access to a vast array of job data allowing us to see exactly what is happening in the UK job market.
Our national report has highlighted how UK jobseekers are being let down by the UK government, by only being offered access to a fraction of the jobs available to them and jobs being advertised directly or via recruitment and talent agencies. This is undoubtably having an impact on theses jobseekers, the businesses recruiting and the economy as a whole and it will also have a huge impact on the number of people claiming benefits.
By working with the private sector and re engaging with job boards, career sites and job aggregators and by aggregating all relevant roles then the government could easily fix this issue and offer a comprehensive service across the nation by increasing the visibility of unique jobs currently unavailable via the current government jobs platform.”
