The producer of one of the UK’s leading, cloud-based employee benefits platforms, Zest, has appointed a new non-executive Chair.

Simon Barker (pictured) is joining as the non-executive Chair of The Zest Technology Group Ltd, the ultimate holding company of Zest Technology Ltd.

During an impressive 30 year career in the software sector, Simon has founded several notable start-ups and also run highly successful established software businesses; most recently Aquila Heywood, the providers of pensions administration software. He is now pursuing a portfolio career holding a number of non-executive and advisory positions with the Benbecula Group, Civica and the charity, Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

Commenting on the reasons for joining the company, Simon said: “Zest is an exciting, award winning business that has built a strong product and customer base over the last few years and has enormous potential for further growth. I’ve been hugely impressed by the management team and I believe that my experience of founding and running successful SaaS businesses can help take the company forward to achieve its objectives and ambitions.”
