It’s fair to say that this year has been a tough one, no matter what industry you work in. Whether you’ve had to close your doors temporarily, furlough your staff, or you’ve continued working during the pandemic, there’s one thing for sure – your employees will need a pick me up more than ever.
You may not be able to organise the usual Christmas do this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat your employees to say thank you for their continued support. Here are three ways to make your employees smile from afar:
- Send them a gift hamper
One great way to bring joy to your employees this festive season is to send them a gift hamper packed full of treats. The benefit of this is you can organise it online and get it sent straight to their door. There are lots of great gifts you could include, such as Christmas chocolate, relaxing candles, a bottle of wine, festive chutneys and anything else you think they’d enjoy. Don’t forget to include a card saying thanks for their hard work and wishing them a Merry Christmas!
- Give them a bonus or vouchers
There’s one thing that everyone appreciates during the festive season – money. With presents to buy, expensive food shops to complete and all the other expenses to cover, it’s fair to say that this time of year comes with a hefty price tag. If your company is in the financial position to do so, giving employees a Christmas bonus is a great way to treat them at the end of a difficult year. It’s sure to boost morale and make people feel valued. Another option is to send out vouchers for staff to spend online, or gift experiences that they can enjoy at a later date.
- Organise a virtual Christmas do
While you can’t get together for the annual Christmas do this year, you can still have a laugh with your colleagues by organising a virtual party. Using Microsoft Teams, Zoom or any other video platform, you can celebrate the festive season from the comfort and safety of your homes. You could play fun games like Pictionary, charades or even host your own 2020 Christmas Quiz! Encourage people to stock up on nibbles and their favourite tipple to get in the festive spirit.
No matter how you choose to treat your employees this Christmas, it’s sure to be appreciated!
