Global authority on workplace culture Great Places to Work® UK has ranked Egress as the 45th in the Best Workplaces™ for Women 2023
Egress has been ranked by Great Places to Work® UK as 45th in the Best Workplaces™ for Women 2023 category, reinforcing its status as a leading employer in the cybersecurity industry. Earlier this year, Egress was ranked 34th for wellbeing and 50th overall for large companies.
An internal survey last month received higher engagement by female employees than their male counterparts. The survey saw 77% of Egress’ workforce agree that people are encouraged to balance their work life and personal life. 74% also agree that Egress is a psychologically and emotionally healthy place to work, a stark difference to the wider tech industry where a VMWare report suggested 47% of cybersecurity professionals experienced burnout or stress during the past year.
Since originally placing on the Great Places to Work® UK list in 2021, Egress has joined the Women in Tech Forum, improved its maternity and paternity packages, and introduced market-leading flexible working with ‘eFlex’, which has proved very popular with all employees, especially those with children. eFlex encourages all team members to take two hours back each week at short notice and without explanation, as well as an additional six half-days’ leave throughout the year on top of annual allowance.
Laura Probert, Chief People Officer at Egress, comments:
“We would be lost without our female employees here at Egress, and being awarded 45th for Best Workplaces™ for Women 2023 shows that we’re on the right track to attract and retain the best women in tech. There’s more onus than ever on companies to look after their people as the cost-of-living crisis rumbles on, and we know that at times like this, women are generally harder-hit than men both financially and in relation to their wellbeing. We’re very proud to be an innovative employer for our people, making sure they love coming to work and feel rewarded and fulfilled.
“Our strategy is feedback-based which gives us the opportunity to regularly do better for our people, and we hope to achieve an even higher ranking with Great Places to Work® UK in 2024.”
Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK, says:
“We’re delighted to announce our 2023 collection of the Best Workplaces™ for Women for the sixth consecutive year. This list celebrates the workplaces that are not just providing a great work environment for all but are ensuring they’re creating a positive and supportive environment for women too.
“Each of the companies on our list have been commended by their own female employees who have anonymously told us their workplace has gone above and beyond to ensure that women employees are treated fairly in terms of recognition, training, and promotion opportunities. Ensuring people aren’t discriminated against, placing positive value on our differences, creating fair access and advancement for all, and fostering a sense of value and empowerment in employees is what being a Great Place to Work® is all about. It is fantastic to once again celebrate so many Best Workplaces™ for Women this year, across all sectors and organisational sizes.”
